Meet Arianna: A Green Halo Scholar on the Fast Track to Pharmacy

by | Nov 18, 2024

Hello, Green Halo community! Today, we are excited to introduce you to Arianna, a dedicated and passionate Green Halo Scholar from Darien, Illinois. Arianna is a 19-year-old sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she is on an accelerated path to earning her PharmD.

Arianna attended Hinsdale South High School and chose to pursue a career in pharmacy because of her interest in the field and her love for helping people. She is currently enrolled in a “fast track” program at UW-Madison, which involves 2-3 years of prerequisite classes followed by 4 years of pharmacy school. Additionally, she was accepted into the “Early Assurance” program, ensuring her a seat in the UW School of Pharmacy as long as she maintains a GPA above 3.2 and receives no more than two C’s in her classes. Upon completing her first four years, Arianna will earn a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Science (BSPS).

Arianna’s passion for pharmacy extends beyond the classroom. She plans to specialize in compounding pharmacy, which she describes as “the culinary side of pharmacy/medicine” due to its personalized approach to creating unique medications tailored to individual needs.

On campus, Arianna is an active member of the Pre-Pharmacy Club, which offers seminars and opportunities to experience the life of a pharmacist. She also works on campus at the Wisconsin Memorial Union in the Lakeshore unit dining area.

Green Halo’s Support

Being a Green Halo Scholar has been instrumental in Arianna’s college journey. The program has provided her with tutoring services, information sessions, an advisor for support, and mental health resources. Over the past three years, Arianna has focused on improving her mental health, setting boundaries, and navigating life as an adult.

In her free time, Arianna enjoys listening to music and writing poetry and fictional stories. Her favorite music genres are Kpop and pop. She also loves spending time with friends, having weekly movie nights, and dining together.

Advice for Future Scholars

Arianna’s advice to future scholars is to take advantage of the opportunities provided by Green Halo, UtmostU, and their universities. She encourages everyone to get involved, make connections, and explore their career paths, even if it feels intimidating at first.

We are proud to have Arianna as part of the Green Halo Scholars community and look forward to seeing her achieve her dreams in pharmacy!
